Curtis “Showtime” Stevens

We spoke to Curtis Stevens (27-4 20KO) while he was training for his IBF Middleweight eliminator match versus Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (30-1 18KO). Stevens hit some pads and banged with a heavy bag and jumped rope while commenting on what differentiates himself from a Peter Quillin a previous N’Dam opponent. Stevens vs N’Dam goes down in Santa Monica CA and will be broadcast on ESPN 2.

Curtis Stevens (27-4 20KO) and Tureano Johnson (14-1 10KO) had a press conference after their epic battle on NBC Sports. Stevens pulled off the victory with a TKO of Johnson with only :59 seconds left in the 10th and final round. Trailing on all cards going into the final round Stevens pulled off the victory with a thunderous left hook that led to an attack that had the ref stop the fight with less than a minute remaining. An emotional devastated Johnson along with many fans  felt the fight was stopped to soon thus robbing him of a hard earned victory if he could have survived the onslaught. Although the post fight press conference had Tureano calling for an immediate rematch Stevens on the hand would rather move on to bigger and better things like a fight with Peter Quillin or James Kirkland.

We talked to Curtis Stevens (27-4 19KO) and Andre Rozier after Curtis stopped Tureano Johnson. Stevens speaks about the fight and what he wants to do next then his trainer Rozier gives his thoughts on Curtis’s performance and the flaws that he had seen. Johnson (14-1 10KO) was leading big (84-87 82-89×2) going into the 10th and final round when he was caught by a monstrous left hook that led to a Stevens attack that had the ref stop the fight with only 51 seconds left. The stoppage which many find to be to quick, sealed the epic battle and kept Curtis on his path to look for fights against elite opponents.
